I think even without religion, people are going to continue to commit murder or crimes anyway. They are going to murder or commit crimes more frequently. After all, they won’t feel they are doing something wrong. It all really depends on how they are brought up too. They have nothing to fear. They are not afraid of the laws we have now in our respective countries anyway.

I don’t think religions are to be blamed. I think it’s the person who interprets what was taught in a negative way that is to be blamed.

It’s how some people interpret what was taught in the religion. It is how the person is taught and brought up. It is also the thinking skill the person possesses (the way the person think about/ interpret what was taught)

Love isn’t always pretty. Maybe it can be in those romance movies/ novels, but realistically, it feels like you’re in a war sometimes. There are days where you just want to kill the your significant other because they strike your last nerve and irritate you. However, there are also days where you just want to leave the battlefield aside and make peace with them just to experience some tranquility. 

Love is like a rose - and I’m not only saying that because it’s a part of my URL :P But it really is. It’s fragile, it’s beautiful, it’s bright. It blossoms and it dies. But if you preserve it and learn the craft of pressing it, it’ll last forever - it’s the same with love. If you know how to deal with the mood fluctuations, you’ll learn to become immune to the consequences.

When dealing with Love, you always have to remember that if you want to have the beautiful rose, you must also accept the thorns that come with it.

Although you can cut the thorns off, there will be a remnant of where the thorns used to be. Those are our faults and flaws. Yes, we can get rid of them, but they were once there - you just have to overlook them sometimes in order to experience the true beauty of love. Love is about acceptance - when times are amazing and even when they are a bit rough around the edges. Sometimes, you just have to disregard all of the negativity and focus on what really makes you happy - what attracted you to that person in the first place. That’s love.

people will coo over photos of chiseled soldiers handing out toys to brown kids or reuniting, at long last, with family members. they’re a little less response provoking but coffins draped with american flags get more or less the equivalent expression of grief. but photos like the one above i find are typically ignored. i’ve never seen a non anti-war blogger post this kind of picture paired with a remorseful sentiment. the non anti-war blogger can’t relate to her, the blogger doesn’t care about her. she’s more likely to be an image of mockery than sympathy, really. we’re all on the internet, i’m sure you’ve seen some fascist fuck post this type of image and make fun of the “raghead” and rejoice at the death of another “terrorist.”

well, i personally can relate to this woman. politics aside, this woman looks like my family. this woman could easily be either of my my sweet, crocheting, turkish-pastry-baking, old school grandmothers. this woman could easily be any one of the various extended family and community members that attend my family’s mosque. not only can i relate to this woman, or any middle eastern or muslim woman i see in the media, but i relate to her a much greater deal than many others.

this woman’s grief means more to me than the young, white girl mourning over her army fiance’s casket. i mean— despite the fact that i can relate to and have empathy for those of my race that are systematically attacked, victimized —the number of innocent civilian casualties is astounding versus the number of US military deaths… this picture should mean more to all of us. if only america didn’t hate/fear people that looked like the woman above.

Americans are mostly spiritually dead. No amount of mega churches or feel-good propaganda can fill the voids in their souls.
